Robeson County, NC - Everitt Cox to Benjamin Lovett, 1855

Everitt Cox                 This Indenture made the 19th day of 
    to                      May in the year of our Lord 1855 
Benjamin Lovett             between Everitt Cox in the State of 
                            North Carolina of the one part and 
Benjamin Lovett of the County of Robeson and state aforesaid of 
the other part.  Witnesseth that the said Everitt Cox for and in 
consideration of the sum of three hundred dollars to him in hand 
paid by the said Benjamin Lovett at and before the sealing and 
delivery of these presents the receipt whereof we do hereby 
acknowledge have given granted and bargained and sold and alined 
remist release and confirmed and do these presents give grant 
bargain and sell align remis release and confirm unto the said 
Benjamin Lovett and to his heirs and assigns forever all that tract 
or parcel of land situate lying and being in the County of Robeson 
and State of North Carolina containing fifty nine acres and 
bounded as follows viz. beginning at a stake in Gatewood Lewis 
second line of a two hundred acre survey about six chains from 
his corner and runs with his line about twenty six degrees East 
twenty two chains to the corner then about five degrees East
fifteen chains to a stake by a pine  thence with the line of said 
Lewises other xxxxx  North sixty degrees west forty four chains 
to Charles Thompsons line thence with his line North sixty five 
degrees East twenty nine chains and fifty-links to the beginning 
to have and hold the said land with appurtenances to the ax 
proper use behoof and benifit of the said Benjamin Lovett and to 
his heirs and assigns forever and the Everitt Cox for himself and 
his heirs executors and administrators do warrant promise and 
agree to and with the Benjamin Lovett and his and assigns that he 
Benjamin Lovett and his heirs and every  of these shall have and 
occupy possess and enjoy the said land with its appurtenances 
without xx direct hindrance or xxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxx xxxxxx as by 
the lawful claims of person or persons whatsoever to warrant and 
forever defend witness whereof the Everitt Cox have hereunder to 
set his hand and seal the day and year above written.

                             Be it remembered that on this 19th day 
of May one thousand eight hundred and fifty five there was the 
execution of the written deed duly proven before me Shadrack Howell, 
Clerk of the Circuit Court of said County at office by the oath of 
Burwell Britt a subscribing witness. Let it be registered
