Robeson County, NC - Benjamin Lovett & Wife to Gilbert Lovett - 1873 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Benjamin Lovett & Wife This indenture made this the twenty to first day of January One Thousand Gilbert Lovett Eight Hundred and Seventy Three Between Benjamin Lovett and Molsey Lovett of the first part and Gilbert Lovett of the second part, both parties of the County of Robeson and State of North Carolina. That I Benjamin Lovett and Molsey Lovett the first part doth on this date for and in Consideration of the sum of fifty dollars in hand paid to us by the said Gilbert Lovett the second part Bargain Sell Release and Convey unto the said Gilbert Lovett a certain tract piece or parcel of Land of One Hundred acres Lying and being in the County of Robeson and State of aforesaid on the South side of Ten Mile Swamp. Bounded as follows by the Lands of Henry T. Pope, Alexander Thompson and the Lands of John B. Thompson and also The Lands of Noah Carter and the Lands of L.T. Britt and thence any remaining part of my Lands being the upper part of my xxxxxxx of Lands so as to cover one hundred acres. The title whereof Benjamin Lovett and Molsey Lovett do warrant and forever defend unto the said Gilbert Lovett all of that tract of Land One Hundred Acres unmolested whereof we do warrant and forever defend against ourselves heirs and assigns or any claim or Lawful Claiming The Same or any part Therefore unto the said Gilbert Lovett his heirs and assigns for ever and singular To Have and Hold with all its appurtenances thereunto belonging whereas we Set our Hands and Affix our Seals this the day and date above written. Wherefore the said Molsey Lovett, wife of the said Benjamin Lovett being by me privately examined separate & apart from said husband, touching her free consent to the execution of said Deed confesses that she had signed the same without the influence of fear force or any unlawful means used by her said husband or any other person and did still Voluntarily assent thereto.
