THIS DEED, Made this the 14th, day of March, 1922, by Wesley Lovett and wife, Nannie Lovett of the County of Anson, State of North Carolina, of the first part to Enoch Lovett of the County of Robeson, State of North Carolina, of the second part. WITNESSETH: That the said parties of the first part in consider- ation of the sum of TWENTY DOLLARS in hand paid by the said party of the second part, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, do hereby bargain, sell and convey unto the said party of the second part and to his heirs and assigns, forever, the following lands in Britt's Township, Robeson County, North Carolina, bounded and described as follows, to-wit: This deed is intended to convey a 1/7 interest in the following described tract of land. It being the interest inherited by said Wesley Lovett, from his father R.R. Lovett, deceased. In Britt's Township, Robeson County, North Carolina. Adjoining the lands of H.P. Lovett, Mrs. Collins and others. Beginning at a stake in the center of the Lovett Road in H.P. Lovett's line and runs with Lovett's line south 65 1/2 east 19.67 chains to a stake and small gum in Mrs. Collins' line; thence north 69 3/4 east 15.75 chains to a stake in the center of the Lovett Road: thence with the center of the said Road, N.W., to the beginning, containing 10 1/2 acres. TO HAVE AND TO HOLD, the above described lands and premises, with the appurtenances unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever. And the said parties of the first part for themselves, their heirs, executors and administrators, do covenant with the party of the second part his heirs, and assigns, that they are lawfully seized in fee of said lands; that they have good right to sell the same, and that they are free from all encumbrances, and that they will. and their heirs, executors and administrators shall warrant and defend the title of the same against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever. IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF the said parties of the first part have hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals, the day and year above written. I, Edward Stogner, a J.P. do hereby certify that Wesley Lovett and Nannie Lovett his wife, personally appeared before me this day and acknow- ledged the due execution of the foregoing deed of conveyance and the said Nannie Lovett being by me privately examined, separate and apart from her said husband touching her voluntary execution of the same, doth state that she signed the same freely and voluntarily without fear or compulsion of her said husband or any other person: and that she doth still voluntarily assent thereto.
