Robeson County, NC - Mattie Lovett Johnson & husband to Enoch Lovett - 1923 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA This Deed, Made this 24th Robeson County day of March , 1923, by Mattie Lovett Johnson & husband Charlie Johnson, of the County of --------, and the State of South Carolina, of the first part to Enoch Lovett of the County of Robeson, and the State of North Carolina, of the second part. WITNESSED: That the said parties of the first part, in consideration of the sum of -------Twenty----------Dollars in hand paid by the party of the second part, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, do ----------------------- hereby bargain, sell and convey unto the said party of the second part, and to his heirs and assigns forever, the following lands in Britt's Township, Robeson County, North Carolina, bounded and described as follows, to-wit: In Britt's Township, Robeson County, North Carolina, All the right, title and interest the parties of the first part have in and to the following described parcel or tract of land. Adjoining the lands of H.P. Lovett, Mrs. Collins, and others. Beginning at a stake in the center of the Lovett Road in H.P. Lovett's line and runs with Lovett's line south 65 1/2 east 19.67 chains to a stake and small gum in Mrs. Collins line; thence north 69 3/4 deg. east 15.75 chains to a stake in the center of the Lovett Road; thence with the center of said road northwest to the beginning, containing 10 1/2 acres, and being the same land conveyed by deed from Newit Cox and wife to R.R. Lovett, as will appear by reference to said deed which is duly recorded in the office of the Register of Deeds of Robeson County in Book 4-X at page 287. TO HAVE AND HOLD the above described lands and premises, with the appurtenances, unto the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns, forever. And the said parties of the first part, for themselves and their heirs, executioners and administrators, doth covenant with the party of the second part, his heirs and assigns that they are lawfully seized in fee of the said lands, that they have good right to sell and convey the same; that they are free from all encumbrance; and that they will and their heirs, executioners and administrators shall warrant and defend the title to the same against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever.
