His son Benjamin b. 1810 spelled his name with an e. (Lovett)] Deed: Simon Cox, Grantor Benj. E. Lovitt, Grantee This Indenture made this seventeenth day of August in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and six Between Simon Cox Sen. of the County of Robeson & State of NoCarolina of the one part & Benj. E. Lovitt of the County & State aforesaid of the other part. Witnessed that the said Simon Cox Sen. for and in consideration of the good will & affection which I bear unto my well beloved son in law Benj. E. Lovitt have given granted & by these presents do give & grant unto the aforesaid Benj. E. Lovitt his heirs & assigns forever a certain piece or parcel of Land situate lying & being in the County & State aforesaid & on the East side of Hog swamp. Containing two hundred acres it being part of a tract of land containing three hundred acres surveyed for & Patent granted unto the aforesaid Simon Cox the 2nd Nov. 1784 as well fully by Patent. To have & to hold the aforesaid land & premises together with all ways woods waters and water courses and every other appurtenance thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining & the said Simon Cox Sen. for himself his heirs Executors & administrators hath hereby given & grants unto the aforesaid Benj. E. Lovitt his heirs Executors administrators & assigns forever& the aforesaid Simon Cox Sen. his heirs Executors & administrators shall warrant & forever defend the aforesaid Land with all and every of its members and appurtenances free from all lawful claim or claims of any person or persons whatsoever unto the said Benj. E. Lovitt his heirs and assigns forever. In witness whereof the said Simon Cox Sen. hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day year before written.
