Smith, 1845, Deed, Z-101, 250 acres Raft Swamp. James Smith This Indenture made the 14th day of To October in the year of our Lord One James A. Smith thousand eight hundred and forty four Between James Smith Senr. of the state of North Carolina and county of Robeson of the one part and James A. Smith of the said state and county of the other part, WitneSseth that I the said James Smith for the love and affection which I have for my son the said James A. Smith have made overgave and bequeath and by these presents do make over give and bequeath unto the said James A. Smith his heirs and aSsigns forever a certain piece or parcel of land lying and being in the county of Robeson and state of North Carolina between Raft Swamp and Mill Swamp bounded as follows. Beginning at a stake The corncer of a hundred and ten acre tract granted by Angus Gilchrist to the said James Smith and runs South fifty five east forty five chains to a stake then due North thirty seven chains to a big pine then north seventy west forty chains to a stake then due east to a stake the south east corner of a hundred acre tract granted by Angus Gilchrist to the said James Smith then North twenty five chains then due west to Malcom Lamonds line then south to a hickory Malcom Lammonds beginning corner then west twenty five chains to two pines then south eleven chains to a pine then south then west to a pine about fixty yards due west of the said James A. Smiths house then South ten east to Hector McLeans upper line of twenty five east to a black Jack the south east corncer of a forty acre tract granted by Angus Gilchrist to this said Smith then North ten west to the beginning including all Surveys and parts of surveys supposed to contain one hundred and fifty acres more or leSs which lands together with all and singular it members privileges advantages hereditaments appurtenances the said James Smith for himself his heirs executors administrators and aSsigns hath hereby gave set over conveyed released and confirmed unto the said James A. Smith his heirs executors administrators and aSsigns forever and he the said James Smith doth hereby covenant and promise and with the said James A. Smith that he James Smith shall and will warrant and forever The said land from and against him his heirs and aSsigns or any other person or persons claiming from or under them as also from and against the Just do of any person or persons whatsoever from by or under him. In witneSs whereof the said James Smith hath here and do set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year above written signed sealed and delivered in presence of N. A. McLean his George B.
