Compiled Military Service Record

Private James Ervin Douglas, born in Robeson County where he resided as a 
laborer prior to enlisting in Robeson County at age 18, March 10, 1862.  
Present or accounted for until captured at Cold Harbor, Virginia, June 1, 
1864.  Confined at Point Lookout, Maryland, June 11, 1864.  Transferred to 
Elmira, New York, July 12, 1864.  Released at Elmira on July 3, 1865, after 
taking Oath of Allegiance.
