Died at Richmond, Virginia, November 19, 1862, of disease. page 314 Company G was known as "Highland Boys" and was raised in Robeson County, NC. They enlisted at Floral on June 4, 1861. Officers were: Capt. Thaddeus D. Love Capt. Arch A. McIver Lt. John P. Bethea Lt. Thomas K. McBryde Lt. Hector McEachern Lt. John H. McLean Lt. Harrison Purcell Lt. John Regan Others from Robeson County were: Neil A. McNeill, Pvt., age 18, died in 1861 in Robeson County. Neil McNeill, Pvt., Robeson County (no further information given) John J. McNeill, Pvt., age 22, killed at Sharpsburg John G. McNeill, age 32, killed Robert Graham McNeill, age 21 Archibald A. McNeill, Pvt., died not age given Archibald E. McNeill, Pvt., age 18, wounded between Raleigh and Gaston Cyrus McNeill, Pvt., age 21 Hiram H. McNeill, Pvt., age 18 William James Love, Musician Martin Lovette, Also from Robeson County were the following last names: Campbell, Conoley, Livingston, McGeachy, McKinnon, McLean, Musselwhite, Ray, Regan, Smith, and Wilson (to name a few). Information on Company G was compiled principally from company muster rolls for June 4, 1861 - Feb. 29, 1864 and June 30, 1864 - Feb. 28, 1865.
