McNeil, Sr. List of Surviving Confederate Veterans of Robeson County, NC May 8, 1919 The following list of surviving Confederate veterans of Robeson is as nearly complete as it has been possible to make it. Mr. M. G. McKenzie of Lumberton, former treasurer of the county and commander of Camp Willis H. Pope who secured most of these names for The Robesonian and for whose valuable assistance in that respect. The Robesonian appreciates and desires to make here and now due acknowledgement, believes that the list is practically complete. There are three camps of Confederate veterans in the county: Camp Willis H. Pope, headquarters at Lumberton, M. G. McKenzie, commander; Camp Ryan, headquarters at Red Springs, Geo. H.
