Enrolled as a Conscript by Capt. W. M. Swann, Enrolling Officer of the 4th Congressional District of North Carolina. Engaged on the coast of North Carolina in manufacture of Salt. He is the Superintendent and manager of Salt Works, making over 20 bushels a day. He is the only white person engaged since October 1, 1862 Over 40 years of age. Now in the custody of James C. Currie in Capt. McCrimmon District. Submitted petition for Habeus Corpus on July 31, 1863.
