Enrolled as a Conscript in Lumberton on May 13, 1863 by Capt. William M. Swann, enrollment officer of the 4th Congressional district of North Carolina. Directed to Stephen J. Cobb, Colonel of the 59th Regiment of the North Carolina Militia, sent to the Commander of Conscripts near Raleigh. On July 5, 1862 furnished a substitute, Jacob Bryant, age 36 years.
