Today the site is designated as the Moores Creek National Battlefield, and the battle is commemorated each year on the last Saturday in February. After much research, Bobby Gilmer Moss, in 1992, published a two volume set of the Roster of the Patriots and Loyalist in the Battle of Moores Creek Bridge. Among those listed were 116 men who were identified as being connected to Bladen County, North Carolina. During that period of time old Bladen County consisted of the present day counties of Bladen, Robeson, and parts of Hoke and Columbus.
