Red Springs Comet 10/20/1892 1892
Mr. Aaron Revels, a Croatan residing near Pembroke, this county, claims to be the 
oldest man in the State, if not the world.  According to his statement, he is 111 
years old – born in 1781.  

He has had his coffin made for 10 years.  He has died or rather gone off into a 
trance and put into his coffin twice.  About the time he was to be consigned to 
the grave he would come to and tell many fabulous tales revealed to him of the 
happy hunting ground.  He is likely to make several more trips.
