McCallum Plantation, 1918 M'Callum Plantation Near Red Springs Sold Biggest Real Estate Transaction in Robeson County in Many Years - Purchase Price $100,000 Red Springs, Nov. 1 - One of the largest real estate deals ever consumated in this part of the state was closed a few days ago when A.T. McCallum sold his Wakulla plantation to W.A. and George T. Bullock, the consideration being $100,000. This is considered one of the most valuable plantations in Robeson County and has been the old McCallum homestead for a century or more. For the first time it passes from the family. The situation is admirable being only 3 1/2 miles from Red Springs, convenient to the A.C.L. Railroad with good church and school facilities and surrounded by good roads. The sale of this plantation does not eliminate Mr. McCallum in his farming interests for he still retains his valuable plantation one mile north of Red Springs, and also his Purvis farm near Rowland to which he will give his personal attention in the future. Mr. McCallum is a member of the state agricultural board and is prominent in the farming development of North Carolina. The Messrs. Bullock are most successful and enterprising young farmers and are to be contratulated on securing the valuable possession to their already large holdings of real estate in this section. Mr. Floyd, register of deeds, says that this deed required $100 of revenue stamps for registration.
