COUNCIL OF STATE
--At a meeting of the Council of State held in this City on the 26th ult., 
R.S. FRENCH, ESQ. OF Robeson County, was appointed a Judge of the Superior 
Courts, to fill a vacancy caused by the resignation of JUDGE SHEPHERD. R.L. 
PATTERSON, ESQ. of Salem was appointed a Councillor of State in place of JESSE 
A. WAUGH, ESQ., resigned.
