We, the voters of the Croatan Indians of Robeson county, affiliating with the
Democratic party, do ask the delegates that will compose the county convention
for the nomination of our favorite candidate for sheriff, Mr. L. H. Townsend, of
Saddle Tree township. If nominated, we promise to give the party a hearty
support and further promise to give a greater majority than in previous
elections in the county as far as the Indian vote is concerned.
