Army, who made ginger cakes for the soldiers and others and stamped them with the picture of a horse at full speed. This stamp was inherited by the late Hardy Bell, a son of Arthur, who owned valuable property in the town of Lumberton and was a soldier in Cap. McPhattair's co. in the war of 1812. Many of the "scatter abroad" will recall with pleasure the "hoss" cakes and cider of old Hardy Bell. Signed: H. McM.
