ELECTION OF CLERKS.---On Thursday las an election was held for Clerks of the 
County nd Superior Courts.  The following is the result, so far as we have 
heard:---

   Cumberland County.---For County Court, J. T. Warden.  Poll:  Warden 978, 
John H. Cok 152, scattering 17.  For Superior Court, John W. Baker, Jr.  Poll: 
Baker 836, Beverly oe 204 scattering 20.  The five companies in the army gave 
271 votes in all, at their several camps.

   Harnett.---B. F. Shaw, C.C.  Poll:  Shaw 436, Price 30.  Gen. A. D. McLean, 
S. C.  Poll: Mclean (including 84 reported at camp at Yorktown) 373, McLeod 
278.

   Moore---A. H. McNeill, C. C., without opposition; J. H. Caddell, S. C.  
Poll:  Caddell 688, T W Ritter 255, Wm. Campbell 119, S. E. johnson 137, J. C. 
Morrison 34, Wm. Barrett 20.

   Robeson.---Col. John A. Rowland, C. C.  Poll:  Rowland 505, Pope 222, 
Harman 100, Brown 156, McDonald 61.  John R. Carter, S. C. without oposition.

   Bladen.---Dugald Blue, C. C.  Poll:  Blue 530, scattering 5.  David Lewis, 
S. C.  Poll:  Lewis 446, Dr. H. H. Robinson 152.

   Wake.---J. J. Ferrell, C. C.  W. H. Moore, S. C.

   New Hanover.---S. R. Bunting, C. C.  Wm. M. Harriss, S. C.
