Thursday MRS. H. L. ANDREWS CLAIMED BY DEATH Mrs. H. L. Andrews, age 71, died at her home on Fifth Street last night, after suffering a critical attack Saturday. She had been in failing health for several years and had been in bed since last February. Mrs. Andrews, daughter of Miles E. and Margaret Mercer, was the former Fannie Mercer of the Regan section. She was born August 7, 1877. Surviving are four daughters: Mrs. Prichard Davis and Mrs. R.C. Kinley, Fayetteville; and Mrs. Hunter Self, Charlotte; a sister, Mrs. Emma Herring, Route 1, and four grandchildren. Her husband died several years ago. Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Friday at Stephens Funeral Home. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Cemetery. Mrs. Andrews was a life-long member of the Chestnut Street Methodist Church and her pastor, Rev. Forrest D. Hedden, will conduct the services. He will be assisted by her nephews, Rev. Charles Mercer, Wilmington, and Rev. S.E. Mercer, Stantonsburg.
