BARKER DIES NEAR ST. PAULS - FUNERAL WITH MASONIC HONORS AT GREAT MARSH SUNDAY St. Pauls, April 29 – A large crowd was present for the funeral of M.J. Barker, 84, held Sunday at 3 p.m. from Great Marsh Baptist church by the pastor, Rev. C.R. Hester, assisted by Rev. R.L. Byrd of Tolarsville. Burial was made in the church cemetery with impressive Masonic honors in charge of B. Frank McMillan of Lumberton. Floral offerings were beautiful. Deceased died early Saturday a.m. at his home near St. Pauls of infirmaties of age and pneumonia. Surviving are 6 children: Mrs. Seth Lewis of Bladenboro, Mrs. Edd Humphrey of Saddle Tree; Mrs. H.J. McRae, Mrs. W.D. Watson, W.B., and A.H. Barker, of near St. Pauls: The last-named lived with his father. Mr. Barker was twice married, first to Miss Sarah W. Carlyle. His last wife was Mrs. Annie B.
