The Lumberton Argus 02/03/1905

Mr. Dennis Baxley, of Buie Section, died at Marsh’s Sanitarium Sunday.  His son,
Mr. Charles C. Baxley, had carried him there only the day before and was shocked
Sunday to hear of his father’s death.  He had been quite feeble for three years,
but his death was unexpected at this time, he being able to walk to the depot 
Saturday.
   Mr. Charles C. Baxley feels very grateful to the people of the hospital, Mr.
Rogers the undertaker, the telegraph operators, and the Atlantic Coast Line
authorities, whose kindness enabled him to return with his father’s body on the
fast train Sunday night, only three hours after he boarded the north-bound train
at Pembroke.
   Mr. Baxley was 54 years old. He was a member of the Saddle Tree Baptist
church, and was a Hightly respected citizen.
