The ROBESONIAN, Lumberton, N.C. Monday, September 27, 1937 Front Page
W.E. BAXLEY Rites will be held Tuesday 11 A.M.
W.E. Baxley, 60, of West Lumberton died this morning following a lingering 
illness. Funeral services will be conducted from Raft Swamp Baptist Church, of 
which he was a member, Tuesday at 11 A.M. by Rev. J.M. Fleming with burial in 
the church cemetery.
Surviving are 5 sisters, Mesdames Simpson PREVATTE of Lumberton, N. SHELLEY of 
Norfolk, Va., Mrs D. HAYES of St Pauls, Dora SMITH of Philadelphia, Joe ODUM 
of Fayetteville: 2 brothers—H. of Raeford, and J.E. of St. Pauls. A number of 
nieces and nephews also survive.

[Note: William “Edward” BAXLEY was the son of Alfred BAXLEY and Sophia ODUM.]
