Rites Held for Luther BAXLEY

Funeral services for Alva Luther BAXLEY, 65, who died of paralysis Friday at 
his home near East Lumberton, were conducted from the residence Sunday 
afternoon by Rev. E. A. PAUL with interment in the Taylor cemetery near 
Allenton. Surviving are his widow by a second marriage and several children. 
Pallbearers were: W.W. WILLIAMSON, Lonnie NEALEY, Roy COVINGTON, Curtiss 
HUMPHREY, Frank BYRD, John McCORMICK. Flower bearers were: Mmes. C.L. CLEWIS, 
Frank BYRD, A. M. WEST, H.I. SMITH, L. D. LOVE, W.W. WILLIAMSON, F.F. HAYES, 
Miss Louisa BYRD.

[Note: Luther died 25 February, 1939 and was the son of Willis BAXLEY and Nora 
TYNER. His second wife was Lula TAYLOR.]
