J. Belch The funeral of Mr. Isham J. Belch, who died suddenly Wednes- day morning, was held at his home on 5th street, Lumberton, Friday at 10 a. m., conducted by his pas- tor, Rev. E. A. Paul, and Dr. C. H. Durham, pastor of the First Bap- tist church of Lumberton. Messrs. C. H. Skipper, ?? C. Blake, J. T. McIntyre and ?? A. Inman sang favorite hymns of the deceased. Active pallbearers were Messrs, Justin McNeill, R. P. Blake, Mack Kinlaw, C. A. Crump, I. J. Flowers and J. S. Branch. Mr. Belch, who was 81, made his home in Lumberton for the past 14 years, having moved here from His country home near Allenton. He was a deacon in the Baptist church at Antioch for about 25 years. He was well known in Robeson and had a host of friends. Surviving are his widow, who before marriage September 26, 1877, was Nancy Ann Wish- art of Lumberton; 2 daughters – Mrs. J. D. Melvin and Mrs. A. D. Parnell of Lumberton; 6 sons – Mr. A. E. Belch of Cayce, S. C., Rev. I. E. of Gwynn, Va., Mr. Geo. H. of Massillon, Ohio, Mr. J. H. of Shelby, Mr. Robert I. of Lumber- ton, Mr. E. M. of Wilmington; 31 grandchildren and 8 great grand- children.
