ROWLAND – Roy Lee Bracey, 40, died Saturday night at 10:30 in the Scotland 
Memorial Hospital from internal injuries received in a single-car accident, 
Thursday morning at 5:30.

Bracey was headed north on a county road, about 2,000 yards north of the South 
Carolina line. When his car went off the highway, he tried to pull it back, 
skidded across the road and overturned in a ditch of the left side of the 
road. 

He is survived by his wife, the former Louise Burney, Dillon, S.C ; 1 
daughter, Linda; his mother, Mrs. Florence Bracey of Rowland; two brothers, 
R.G. and Wilton; one sister, Mrs. Douglas Bracey, all of Rowland.

Funeral services are being held at the home at 3 p.m. today, conducted by the 
Rev. George F. Houch pastor of Ashpole Presbyterian Church of which Mr. Bracey 
was a member, assisted by O.A. Anderson, of Rowland Baptist Church. Burial 
will follow in Ashpole Cemetery.
