Floyd Mortuary, Inc., Lumberton, NC
Sidney Rae Burchette, age 95, passed away Friday, May 20, 2016, at
Highland Acres Nursing Center in Lumberton. She was born in Robeson
County on August 31, 1920. She was formerly employed as an EKG
Technician at Southeastern Regional Medical Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Sidney Thompson &
Dollie Ellen Lamb Thompson; her stepfather, Currie Davis; her husband,
James Irden “J.I.” Burchette, Jr.; 1 brother, Winston Davis; 2
sisters: Ora Ellen Davis & Esther Bruce; a beloved son-in-law, Lacy
Ivey; an infant granddaughter; and 2 great-grandsons.

She is survived by 4 sons: James Franklin Burchette and wife Alice of
Franklinton, David Lee Burchette and wife Barbara of Lexington,
Kenneth Carey Burchette and wife Carol of Clinton, and Ronald
Burchette and wife Ruby of St. Pauls; 3 daughters: Jo Ann Burchette
Ivey of Orrum, Joyce Burchette Davis and husband Rev. Larry of
Lumberton, and Deborah Burchette Sayer and husband Bobby of Kings
Mountain; 20 grandchildren; and a host of great- and
great-great-grandchildren.

A time of visitation will take place prior to the service on Sunday,
May 22, 2016, from 3:00-4:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc.

Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM at
Floyd Memorial Chapel with Rev. Mark Meadows, Rev. Randy Burchette,
and Rev. Jason Davis officiating. Burial will follow at New Hollywood
Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
