Robeson County, NC - Obituary of Mrs. Nan S. Barnes, 1955 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mrs. Nan S. Barnes Fairmont -- Mrs. Nan Sealey Barnes, 97, who had spent her entire life in Barnesville section of Robeson County, died Sunday morning at the home of her son Frank Barnes, after being a bedridden invalid for a year. Mrs. Barnes left a total of 148 descendants. Five surviving children are Frank Barnes, Mrs. Hattie B. Connor of Proctorville, Mrs. Sarah B. Herring of Orrum, Mrs. Utley Arnette of Barnesville, and Dewey Barnes of Fairmont, route 2. Also surviving are 45 grandchildren, 83 great grandchildren, and 15 great great grandchildren. Her pastor, Rev. Rufus Potts, will officiate at graveside services at 2:30 p.m. today at Old Spring Hill Cemetery.
