Bullock Dies at Fairmont Beloved Citizen Lived a Long and Useful Life---Funeral Sunday (By Mrs. H. G. Inman) By Phone to the ROBESONIAN Fairmont, July 23--Allen Cebron Bullock, a much beloved citizen of Fairmont died Saturday July 21, at 3:20 p.m. at the age of 81 years, after suffering 5 weeks from complications. Mr. Bullock spent his long and useful life in Robeson., He joined Piney Grove Baptist church in his boyhood, a short while later moving his membership to Pleasant Grove, where he was ordained as deacon. He was a member and deacon of the Baptist church of Fairmont for over 40 years. Deceased was married 55 years ago to Miss Annie Horne of South Carolina, and to this union 10 children were born. The following survive: Mesdames Phil P. Jones and S. G. Floyd and Miss Maud Bullock of Fairmont; Mrs. F. J. Barber of Windsor; Messrs. T. W. of Lumberton, D. C. of Fairmont and Robert E. of Georgetown, S. C. He is also survived by his widow, who has been an invalid for several months. The funeral was conducted at the home Sunday at 4 p. m. by his pastor, Dr. T. H. Plemmons, who said that Mr. Bullock was one man in Fairmont about whom he had never heard a word of criticism. The honorary pallbearers were the senior deacons and the active were the junior deacons of the church. The flower girls were special friends of the family, officers of the Fidelis class, and 4 girls from Mrs. S. G. Floyd's class of the Trinity Methodist church. The different choirs of the churches sang "Nearer My God to Thee", "In The Sweet Bye and Bye" and "The Christian's Goodnight". Mr. C. B. Skipper of Lumberton sang "Lower the Anchor", Interment was made in the new cemetery where a host of friends from Fairmont, Lumberton, Fair Bluff and Lake View, paid their last respects to a good man. The floral tributes were many and beautiful. Transcriber note: Allen C. Bullock is buried alongside his wife Annie Jane Horne at the Community Cemetery of Fairmont.
