ROWLAND – Mrs. Bertia Campbell, 67, died Thursday in Robeson County Memorial 
Hospital.

She is survived by eight sons, Elwood of Red Springs, James, Charlie, Solomon 
and Edward of Rowland, Joseph of Fairmont, Route 2, J.W. and Thesie of 
Philadelphia; two daughters, Mrs. Sarah E. Locklear and Mrs. Leslie Lewis of 
Rowland; one foster daughter; Maggie Campbell of the home; 49 grandchildren; 
and two great-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.  

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock from Ashpole 
Center church. The Rev. Johnnie Chavis was in charge of the service, assisted 
by the Rev. Jackie Locklear.
