ROWLAND – Victor Carter, 63, retired farmer and textile worker, died Friday. 
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. today at the Rowland First Baptist 
Church. Burial will be in the Rowland Cemetery. 

Survivors include his wife, Archanna Owens Carter; seven sons, Dennis and 
Mickey of High Point, Richard of Hamlet, Marshall of Rowland, Jeff and Tony of 
the home, and Jerry Grimsley of Billings, Montana; five daughters, Mrs. Cheryl 
Prevatte of Wilmington, Mrs. Connie McNeill and Miss Patsy Carter of 
Laurinburg, Mrs. Maxine McQueen of Rowland and Miss Marian Carter of the home; 
four brothers, Grant of Dillon, S.C., Barney of Sumter, S.C., Marion of 
Anerson (sic), S.C., and Durward of Louisburg; two sisters, Mrs. Blanche 
Konecny of Latta, S.C., and Mrs. Hester Clewis of Hamlet; and 13 
grandchildren.
