Collins. 83 Succumbs To Age Lod T. Collins, 83-year old farmer and lifelong resident of Robeson County, died of infirmities of age last night at his home on Fairmont, R. 2. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 4 p.m. from the home, with burial in the family cemetery. Surviving are four sons, Archie Collins of Washington, DC., J.H. Collins of Lumberton, R.3, J.C. Collins of Lumberton and H.T. Collins of Fairmont, R.2; six daughters, Mrs. R.L. Johnson of Fairmont, R. 2, Mrs. Floyd Herring of Lumberton, Mrs. Bright Davis of Fairmont, R. 1, Mrs. Kemp Floyd of Marion, S.C., Mrs. Ellier Hardin of Fairmont, R. 2, Mrs. H.S. Carter of Lumberton, R.2. Additional Comments: ***Loderick Tanner (L.T) Collins was the son of Lodwick Tanner Collins and Aquilla Johnson. His three wives included Iley Byrd, Martha “Mattie” Britt and Mary Etta Davis. L.T. was born in Johnston County, NC and moved to Robeson County, NC in the late 1870s with his mother Aquilla, brother James, and sister Emily.
