Rites for Mrs. W.M. Davis Held Monday 

Last rites for Mrs. Sue Powers Davis, 51, wife of the late W. M. Davis of 
Lumberton, R. 1, Barker Ten-Mile section,  were held Monday at 10 a.m. from 
Biggs Funeral home by Rev. M.Y. Self, of which she was a member. Mrs. Davis 
died Saturday about 6 p.m. at a local hospital, following an illness of some 
time. 

Interment was made in the Davis cemetery near Rockfish beside the grave of her 
husband. Music was rendered by members of the Barker church choir. 
 
Mrs. Powers was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Mark Powers of the Barker-
Ten Mile community. Among survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Knox Fisher, who 
lived with her; 2 brothers, Clarence and George Powers of the Barker-Ten Mile 
community, and a sister, Mrs. Monroe. 

Mrs. Powers was a former correspondent for the Robesonian.
