Ila Evans
     Ila Evans, 75, died Sunday morning in Moore Regional Hospital.  She was 
the wife of the late George Evans and was born in Robeson County to the Late 
Jack and Sally Halcomb Thompson.
     The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at Crumpler Funeral Home Chapel.  
Burial was in Raeford cemetery.
     Surviving are a son, Joe A. Evans of Taylor, Texas; three daughters, Ruth 
Currie, Ethel Gordon, and Nancy McGuire, al of Raeford; a brother, Dalton 
Thompson of Rowland; 14 grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

Additional Comments:
Ila Thompson was born in Robeson County to John (Jack) Turrington Thompson and 
Sallie Virginia Holcomb.  They lived near Rowland, in Thompson Twp, Robeson 
County, NC.  Ila is buried in Raeford Cemetery, Raeford, Hoke Co, NC.  Her 
tombstone reflects:  Ila Thompson Evans 1912-30 Mar - 1988-6 Mar.  She is 
buried next to her husband George Evans.
