George T. Evans
     George T. Evans, 73, of Raeford, died Sunday morning.
     Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Crumpler Funeral Home 
chapel, the Revs. Billy Evans and Lester Bisette officiating.  Burial was in 
Raeford Cemetery.
     Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ile Evans; one son, Joe Evans of Taylor, 
Tex; three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Currie, Mrs. Ethel Gordon, and Mrs. Nancy 
McGuire, all of Raeford; two brothers, Tommy Evans of Carthage and John Evans 
of Elizabethtown; two sisters, Mrs. Lillie Kinlaw of Carthage and Mrs. Johnny 
Smith of Lumberton; and 15 grandchildren.


Additional Comments:
George T. Evans, was the son of Ephriam Wright Evans and Mattie Allen of 
Robeson County, NC.  George is buried in the Raeford Cemetery, Raeford, Hoke 
County, NC, next to his spouse Ila Thompson Evans.  Tombstone reads:  George 
T. Evans 1906-Aug 1 - 1979-Aug 25.
