Robeson County, NC - Obituary of Nora Lewis Floyd, 1942 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mrs. Frank Floyd Dies in Fairmont Prominent Fairmont Woman Passed Last Night Following Four Days Illness. Fairmont, Nov. 12, --- Mrs. Frank Floyd, 68, died Wednesday night at 9:50 at the Weinstein clinic following an illness of four days. Funeral services will be held Friday from the First Baptist Church at 4 o'clock. A native of Fairmont, Mrs. Floyd was the former Nora Lewis, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John P. Lewis of Fairmont. Her husband, Frank Alford Floyd, died a few years ago. Surviving are two sons, Wayland and Rudolph of Fairmont; three daughters, Mrs. C. W. Walters of Fayetteville, Mrs. Sidney Dickson of Nashville, Mrs. Al Ward Jr. of Wilmington; one brother, J.M. Lewis, of Fairmont; four sisters, Mrs. Spurgeon Floyd, Mrs. Silas Stubbs, Mrs. Arthur Bullock and Mrs. J.B. Nye, all of Fairmont, and 7 grandchildren. Mrs. Floyd was critically ill when taken to the clinic. From the contributor: Nora Mae Lewis was born Oct 30, 1875 and died Nov 11, 1942. She married Francis Alford Floyd in 1901. Francis was born Oct 15, 1872 and died Nov 8, 1938. Nora Mae Lewis was the daughter of John Pinkney Lewis and Mary Easterling.
