Robeson County, NC - Obituary of Miss Alma Floyd, 1966 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Miss Alma Floyd Fairmont -- Miss Alma Floyd died this morning at her home in Fairmont after 15 years of illness, including five years of finvalidism. An alumna of Oxford College and East Carolina College, she taught for 39 years in the public schools of North Carolina, 17 of them in Clayton, prior to her retirement. The funeral will be conducted in Prevatte Funeral chapel Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. with her pastor, the Rev. Thomas L. Rich, officiating. Burial will be in the Fairmont Cemetery. Surviving are her brother, Charles V. Floyd of Fairmont, and a sister, Miss Ophelia Floyd of Fairmont; another sister, Mrs. Roberta Floyd Gunn of Sanford, died within the past year.
