SARAH C. GADDY Departed this life, in Robeson county, N. C., Aug. 20th, 1881, Sarah C. Gaddy, aged 51 years, 7 months and 4 days, the wife of Rev. Jessee R. Gaddy. Sister Gaddy was truly a consistent member of the M. E. Church, South; for 25 years she worked faithfully in the vineyard of the Lord, until the Master said “it is enough come up higher.” How sad to think that mother is gone ! the dearest tie to husband and children in this world. She leaves to mourn their loss a husband, 9 daughters, 2 sons, 1 brother, and a large circle of friends, but they do not mourn as thouse who have no hope. She died in peace. Her Godly walk and triumphan death is having its effect. Six of the children have already been happily converted to God. Her suffering was short, one night just as she arose from prayer at her bedside she felt a stroke of apoplexy – lingered about ten days and died. Her funeral was preached over her remains by her pastor, to a large congregation, after which we laid her wearied body in the silent grave, near by, to rest until the resurrection morn, when we as husband, children and friends expect to meet again at the right hand of the Father in glory.
