Floyd Mortuary, Inc., Lumberton, NC
Phyllis West Gaines, age 61, of Lumberton, NC died on Sunday, March
20, 2016 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.  She
was born in Robeson County, NC on August 11, 1954 to the late Richard
and Vallie Caulder West.  She was a CNA for Beveley Health Care.

 She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Richard “RS”
West; and a daughter, April Lea Hayes.

 Mrs. Gaines is survived by her husband, James Baxley of the home; the
father of her children, Jimmy Hayes of Wilmington; a son, Donnie
Howard Hayes (Carolyn) of Red Springs; a daughter, Dawn Ransom of
Lumberton; brothers, Ronald West (Pam) and Allen West (Jackie) all of
Rowland; sisters, Virginia Edwards (Leon) of Lumberton, Linda Haymore
of Lumberton, and Cathy West of Raleigh; six grandchildren, Jessica D.
Lowery, Kindra Hayes, Donnie H. Hayes, Jr., Kalem M. Peterson, Damian
S. Ranson, Christopher L. Ranson, Jr. (Dinah); and three
great-grandchildren.

 A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at 8:00
PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel with Rv. Kenny Mitchell and Rev. Timmy
Hunt officiating.  A time of visitation will precede the service from
7:00-8:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street
in Lumberton.
