Death Mr. Eli Hammond.



   Mr. Eli Hammond, an old man who lived near Allenton, N. C. has been 
afflicted for several years and on the 6th of Dec., was sitting in a chair in 
his parlor with his companion while the rest of the family was about the 
dinning room and the One who doeth all things well, let his  body fall 
prostrate to the floor to breathe only a few more times, “as we believe” his 
spirit was taken to its eternal and blest abode.
