Death of Mr. H. W. Ivey.
 
   Mr. H. W. Ivey died Friday afternoon at the home of his son-in-law and 
daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Jas. W. Branch, about 6 miles from Lumberton on the Creek 
road.  Mr. Ivey’s health had been bad for some time, and death was not 
unexpected.  The remains were interred in the family burying grounds, near Orrum 
yesterday at 10 a. m.  The funeral services were conducted by Rev. I. P. 
Hedgpeth.  Deceased was for many years a member of Big Branch Baptist church.  He 
was a veteran, having served faithfully in the Civil War.  He leaves eight 
children to mourn their loss.
