Robeson County, NC - Obituary of Obie Ivey, 1974 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Obie Ivey Fairmont – Obie Ivey, 76, of Rt. 1, Orrum died Friday in Southeastern General Hospital. Funeral services will be held today at 3 p.m. from the Bethesda Methodist Church with the Rev. Jesse Staton officiating. Burial will follow in the Ivey-Jenkins Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lillie Barnes Ivey; three daughters, Mrs. Frankie Bass and Mrs. J.B. Mishue, both of Rt. 1, Orrum, and Mrs. Trenton Parkton of Rt. 2, Fairmont; two sons, Carl Ivey of St. Pauls; one brother, Zebbie Ivey of Rt. 1, Orrum; four sisters, Mrs. Raymond Rogers of Rt. 3, Fairmont, Mrs. Anna Lewis of Fairmont, Mrs. Sherrell Hardin of Rt. 1, Oruum and Mrs. Sally Walters of Barnesville; 17 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. The body will remain at Prevatte Funeral Home until one hour prior to the service. From the contributor: Obie Ivey was born Oct 6, 1898 and died Dec 6, 1974. He married Lillie Barnes Dec 19, 1919. She was born Aug 24, 1897 and died May 30, 1979. Obie was the son of Oliver Ivey born May 20, 1862 died Oct 27, 1916 and Frances Penelope "Nellie" Sealey born Mar 29, 1866 and died Dec 3, 1937.
