Mr. Spurgeon Jones Dies Suddenly In Ten Mile Section – Funeral Services at Ten Mile Church Today at 3 P.M. Mr. Spurgeon Jones, farmer and prominent citizen, died at his home in the Ten Mile section Sunday morning at the age of 73. He arose early Sunday and went out to attend to some of his farm stock. Returning to his residence, he lay down and died almost instantly. Funeral services will be conducted from Ten Mile church at 3 p.m. today by Rev. G. Scott Turner of Lumber Bridge. Interment will be made in the church cemetery. He is survived by the following children: Mrs. H.B. Underwood, Tifton, Ga.; Mrs. J. P. Thames, Fayetteville; Mrs. Jesse Britt, Lumberton; Misses Hattie and Edith of the home place; Mr. John Jones, Ten Mile section; Mr. D.H. Jones of the home place; Mr. R.J. Jones, Wagram; Mr. J.H. Jones, Shelby; Mr. Gordon Jones, Wallace; Mr. A.F. Jones, Mt. Tabor.
