HARVEY KING Mrs. Dora Herring King, 70, wife of Harvey M. King of St. Pauls, Rt. 1, Tolarsville community, died Tuesday night in Southeastern General Hospital, after a long period of declining health. She had been a long-time member and very active in Regan Methhodist Church, where she was a member of the Woman’s Society of Christian Service for many years and had also taught a Sunday School class for several years. She was a charter member of the Tolarsville Home Demonstration Club. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. at Regan Methodist Church, and burial will be in Gardens of Faith Cemetery, Lumberton. The body will be at Stephens Funeral Home until an hour prior to the funeral, when carried to the church. Surviving are her husband, Charles of Lumberton, Hinton of St. Pauls, and Ralph King of Rocky Mount; four daughters, Mrs. Margaret Bowen of Aberdeen, Mrs. O.G. Spell of Wendell, Mrs. Homer Spell of Farmville, and Mrs. Vernon Norton of Newport News, Va.; 22 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren; three brothers, Dewey Herring of Lumberton, Howard of Maxwell, and John Herring of Durham. She was a daughter of the late John D. Herring and the late Mrs. Emma Mercer Herring.
