C. Kinlaw Of Howellsville Dies _____ Confederate Veteran, Father of Postmaster W. H. Kinlaw, Succumbs to Long Illness. _____ Mr. D. C. Kinlaw of Howellsville township died at his home Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock after an illness extending over a period of nearly a year. Funeral services were conducted from Regan Methodist church Saturday morning at 11 o’clock by Rev. J. A. Dailey, pastor, and interment made in the church cemetery. Mr. Kinlaw was in his 90th year. He followed Generals Lee and Jackson every day of the Civil war with the exception of the last 12, when he was a prisoner at Point Lookout. He served in the 26th regiment with Mr. J. A. McAllister of Lumberton, who died several years ago. Of his company only Mr. E. J. Biggs of Saddletree and Mr. Nolan Speights, who is now in the county home, survive. Mr. Kinlaw had been in the best of health, not having had a physician in 75 years, until he was bitten by a spider last year while in his corn crib shucking corn. He was brought here to a hospital for a 2-weeks’ stay, after which he returned home. He never recovered from the spider bite, however. He was in a critical condition for several days previous to death. Surving are Mr. N. A. Kinlaw of Howellsville township, Postmaster W. H. Kinlaw of Lumberton, Mr. P. B. Kinlaw of Howellsville and several grandchildren. The following childred preceded him to the grave: Messrs. D. J. and J. H. Kinlaw and Mrs. Ed Graham. Mr. Kinlaw lived with a daughter-in- law, Mrs. J. H. Kinlaw.
