Fairmont, Feb 3, 1937

   Funeral services were conducted Monday at 10:30 a.m. over the remains of 
Mrs. Mary Leggett, 64, who died Sunday at 8 a.m. in the center community.
   She was the widow of Jesse Leggett and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wright 
Lewis. Surviving are 6 sons, Wilbur, Curtis, and Grover; 2 daughters, Misses 
Rosa and Vertie; 2 sisters, Mrs. Will Collins of Lumberton and Mrs. Ed Stephens 
of Fairmont; and one grandson, Buster Leggett.
   Interment was made in the Lewis cemetery. The grave was completely covered 
with the many lovely floral designs. Rev. E.A. Paul of Lumberton conducted the 
rites.
   Pallbearers were nephews: Rayford Bullock, Alex Leggett, Elton Leggett, 
Alton Bullock, Glenn Leggett, Wilbur Leggett.

Additional Comments:
Mary C Lewis was born Jan 1874 and died Jan 31, 1937. She was the daughter of 
Dwight B. Lewis and Mary Elizer Bown.
She married Jesse Leggett on Dec 15, 1893.
