Death of Warren Lewis 

Confederate Veteran Passes at Home Near Fairmont  

Fairmont, Feb 5.  Last Friday night at his home near Fairmont, Mr Warren 
Lewis died after an illness of only a week.
   Mr Lewis had been in failing health for some time and his death was not 
unexpected.  He was a confederate veteran, about 77 years old.  He leaves a 
widow, a large family of children and grandchildren to mourn their loss, 
besides several brothers and sisters, and a host of friends, who did all in 
their power to alleviate his suffering.
  Mr Lewis was never pretentious. The remains were buried Sunday morning in 
the Fairmont Cemetery, after a funeral service at the Baptist church by 
pastor, Rev J. R. Miller.

Note; Warren Arris Lewis was born Nov 14, 1841 and died Feb 1, 1918. He was 
the son of Dawson Lewis and Annie Eliza Jenkins.
