J. H. LEWIS Uncle of Sheriff R. E. Lewis Passed Away in Georgia. Moultrie (Ga.) Daily Observer, July 6. Mr. J. H. Lewis died at his home Here Monday night about 7 o’clock at The age of 74. Mr. Lewis had been a resident of Moultrie during the past ten years. He came here from North Carolina where he was reared and spent the greater portion of his life. During the past year he had been confined to his home most of the time and two weeks ago his condition became such that his death was expected at any moment. Mr. Lewis was a Confederate sol- dier, a Mason and for many years a member of the Methodist church. The funeral will occur Wednesday morning at 9:30 o’clock from the residence and the interment will be at the City cemetery. Besides his widow the deceased is survived by eight children: Messrs. J. H. Lewis, of North Carolina; G. D., T. E., J. E., G. B., and C. C. Lewis and Mrs. W. B. McPhaul, all of Moultrie, and Mrs. O. N. Braddy, of North Carolina.
