Robesonian Mon 2/6/1922
Mr. Dawson Lovett, Centenarian and Confederate Veteran.
   Mr. Dawson Lovett, aged 100 years and 26 days, died Saturday morning at his 
home at Pope’s Crossing, 5 miles south of Lumberton.  Deceased had been in ill 
health for some 7time, the immediate cause of his death being heart trouble.  He 
was a Confederate veteran and was well-known throughout this section.  Several 
children survive.  The funeral was conducted yesterday at 3 p. m. and interment 
made in the Wilcox cemetery.
 
Additional Comments:  Son of Phereby Lovitt and Jacob Lamb; married Rebecca 
Pait.
