Robeson County, NC - Obituary of Charity Sealey Lennon, 1951 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Lennon Rites to Be Held Friday Funeral services for Mrs. J. Ballard Lennon, 78, who died last night, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Garby, will be held at 3 o’clock Friday, at the Lennon’s Cross Roads Baptist Church, and the body will lie in state an hour before the funeral. Rev. A.P. Stephens, pastor of the church, of which Mrs. Lennon was a member, will conduct the services. Burial will be in the family cemetery. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Sally Lawson of Fair Bluff, and Mrs. Amanda Drew of Nichols, S.C.; two brothers, Warren Sealey of Fairmont, and Jack Sealey of Orrum; four daughters, Mrs. John Garby, and Mrs. H.D. Williams of Lumberton, Mrs. W.D. Glass, and Mrs. D.A. Lennon of Boardman; also 22 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be six grandchildren, Hoyt Lennon, Denver Lennon, Gray Lennon, Leon Lennon, Linwood Lennon, and H.E. Duke Jr. From the contributor: Charity Elizabeth “Chat” Sealey was born Apr 23, 1872 and died Mar 14, 1951. She married John Ballard Lennon on May 20, 1892. He was born Feb 20, 1857 and died Feb 24, 1930. Charity Sealey was the daughter of Jackson Sealey born Nov 6, 1834 died Dec 29, 1908 and Amanda Walters born Jul 25, 1837 and died Jan 26, 1919. ___________________________________________________________________ Copyright.
