ROBESON COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Dawson B. (Doss) Lewis, 20 Sep 1920 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Mr. D.B. Lewis of Barnesville Section Mr. D. B. Lewis, aged 75 years, died suddenly yesterday morning at his home near Barnesville. Deceased is survived by his widow and several children. He was a member of the Barnesville Baptist Church and served in the Civil War. The Funeral was conducted at 3 o'clock this afternoon and interment made in the family burying gound at Bethesda. From the Contributor: Dawson (Doss) Lewis was born Dec 31, 1845 in Robeson County NC. He died on Sep 20, 1920 and is buried at Bethesda Methodist Church Cemetery, in Barnesville, NC. On Nov 14, 1866 in Robeson County he married Mary Eliza Barnes Born Mar 13, 1850, and died July 12, 1892. On April 30, 1893 in Robeson County he married Hannah Hayes Ward born Nov 29, 1874, and died Nov 24, 1913. Doss Lewis was the son of Alvin G Lewis and Pharaba Jane Jenkins. This Lewis line goes back to James Lewis and Edith Walters, Edith was the daughter of William Walters Sr and Celia Dawson.
